Model LTH500 is a Donut/Through Hole Load Cell built for Press, or Inline compression applications. The standard LTH500 Donut Load Cell model has a very robust construction available in 17-4 Stainless Steel, with an I.D. range of 1/8” to 1 1/4” and a 10 feet long 24 AWG 4 conductor shielded Teflon cable. You will also find options for external matched output readily available. The Donut/Through Hole Load Cell offers high accuracy and high stiffness. It has Nonlinearity of ±0.5%, Deflection of 0.002” nominal and Operating temperature of -51°C to +93,33° C.
For this model there may be several variants available with other inner diameters, please contact us for current availability.
Robust and accurate with high resistance to off-axis loads
CAPACITY:2000 to 50000lb
LTH500 is a low-profile donut or through-hole load cell for applications that require the load structure to pass through the sensor. It features multiple strain gauges that optimize the model’s performance and significantly reduces the influence of extraneous loads.
The LTH500 is ideal for inline applications that requires a sensor that can handle eccentric or extraneous loads and still maintain a high level of accuracy and reliability. It features an integrated 4-pin micro connector for easy cable connection and disconnection and is rated IP67 for moisture protection.
It is available in a wide range of capacities that range from 2000 to 50000lb and in a variety of inner diameter sizes from 1/8in to 1-1/2in (3.4 to 38.1mm).
The proprietary design, coupled with FUTEK’s sophisticated metal foil strain gauge technology, guarantees high accuracy and repeatability. The extra strain elements inside the sensor ensures low deflection and high sensitivity as well as accurate measurements to off-axis loads, even in high extraneous load conditions. This allows you to mount the sensor in different rotational patterns, orienting the sensors to suit your system design, and still collect reliable, and accurate measurements.
LTH500 model has a through hole with an inner hub that allows load to be attached. The outer diameter has a grey hub on the bottom base, where the unit is to be supported. The strain is measured in the diaphragm between the loading point (ID) and the mounting point (OD). Typically, a bolt or any other component connected to the load passes through the ID.
Plug in, plug out
The LTH500 is now offered with an integrated 4-pin micro connector, which allows for easy and simple cable connection and disconnection. A damaged sensor cable can be replaced without having to replace or disassemble the sensor or any other system component, which saves time, leads to higher system availability and reduces total cost of ownership. It also simplifies the installation process, reducing installation time and maximizing up time.
The 4-position micro cable connector is shown here with the keyed mating face to reduce mating errors. The image shows another model.
The sensors are conformally coated inside with a silicone dielectric gel, which absorbs shock and vibration, ensuring that the interconnected wires do not fatigue or fail. The coating also provides environmental protection against any ingress, improving product life and bringing the sensor up to an IP67 rating.
With an IP67 rating, the LTH500 can withstand submersion in one meter of (sweet) water for up to 30 minutes. This opens up more options for applications in outdoor usage in wet, rainy, or highly humid conditions.
The exceptional quality of FUTEK’s LTH500 sensors makes it highly durable, robust, and reliable. Its body is made of aerospace-grade 17-4PH Stainless steel, which provides high strength, high hardness, and corrosion resistance over a wide temperature range.
The LTH500 has 150% mechanical overload protection. This prevents sensor damage from direct inline overloads that could occur during the setup process or the occasional system over range.
Low power consumption
With a 700 Ohm bridge resistance, the LTH500 consumes less current than a traditional load cell. This is especially valuable for any applications that are battery-operated or are embedded in tight spaces where heat generation could become an issue.
The LTH500 has been tested by FUTEK’s world-class calibration department and is NIST traceable. We can also reduce hidden costs and setup time by calibrating your sensor with FUTEK electronics of your choice. In addition, we offer calibration to ANSI Z540-1 and ISO 17025 standards upon request.
